Mary Fitzgerald deceased.

In the name of God Amen.  I Mary Fitzgerald of Saint John’s in the Island of Newfoundland do make publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament that is to say- 1st I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Garvey wife of Mr. John Garvey,  of Harbor Briton the sum of twenty pounds currency.  2nd I give and bequeath to my nieces Mary Bowler the sum of ten pounds as a token of my affection.  3rd I give and bequeath to my nephew Patrick Brosnahan the sum of ten pounds currency as a token of my affection.  4th I give and bequeath to my grandaughter Mary Joseph Cashin the sum of ten pounds currency as a token of  my affection.   5th I give and bequeath to the Right Reverend  Doctor Mullock Bishop of the Diocese of Saint John’s and to his successors therein the sum of fifty pounds currency for High Masses for the good of my soul.  6th I give and bequeath to the Revd Jeremiah O’Donnell the sum of five pounds currency for Masses for my soul.  7th I give and bequeath to the Revd John Vereker the sum of three pounds currency for Masses for my soul.  8th I give and bequeath to the Revd. Edward Troy of Torbay the sum of two pounds currency for Masses for my soul.  9th I give and bequeath to my grandaughter Honora Cashin Fitzgerald wife of Michael Fitzgerald of Harbor Grace the sum of five pounds currency as a token of my affection.  10th I give and bequeath to my grandson Thomas Cashin the sum of five pounds currency as a token of my affection.  11th I give and bequeath to my grandaughter Mary Delahunty wife of  Mr. Richard Delahunty the sum of eight pounds currecny as a token of my affection-  12th I give and bequeath to my grandaughter Honora Kennedy wife of Mr. Patrick Kennedy of St. John’s the sum of seven pounds currency as a toke of my affection.  13th I give and bequeath to my  grandaughter Catherine Brien the sum of five pounds currency as a token of my affection.  14th I give and bequeath to my executor hereinafter named the sum of five pounds currency in trust for the use and benefit of the children of my deceased niece Mary Brown.  15th I do hereby revoke all former wills made by me.  16th I do hereby direct that all my lawful debts shall be duly paid by my executor out of my money before any of the aforesaid legacies.  17th I do hereby appoint Mr. Maurice O’Brien my grandson of Saint John’s aforesaid sole excecutor of this my last will and testament.  18th I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of all  and singular my property, goods, chattels, money, debts, credits and effects of every description and kind not hereinbefore disposed of unto my said executor Maurice O’Brien  to have hold and enjoy the same as my residuary legatee under this my last will and testament.  As witness my hand and seal this sixteenth day of February Anno Domini  one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven.  Mary X (her amrk) Fitzgerald (LS)  Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Mary Fitzgerald as and for her last will and testament in the presence of, James Fitzgerald, Mary Joseph Cashin, Mauce O’Brien.
