KENNEDY's World War I Memorial

Memorial to Richard Kennedy born 1880 Carbonear, Newfoundland son of Terence Kennedy and Mary Joy. Richard entered the war distraught at the death of his young wife and whose unfortunate death then left 4 children without a parent to raise them. He was a member of the Army, Canadain Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment 106th Bn. Service number 715690) He was killed at age 36 on September 18, 1916 and is buried Shorncliffe Military Cemetery, Kent, England.

Memorial to Private Michael Francis Kennedy son of Nicholas Kennedy and Margaret Hamilton, 187 Merchant Rd. St. John's. He was killed at age 22 on July 1, 1916 at Beaumont Hamel in France at the start of WWI. He was a member of the Army in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, service number 255. He was first cousin to the above Richard Kennedy. Obituary
